Dekka opens the door to get back in every morning. The only time she brakes out is if I am leaving and she doesn't want to be left behind. You know I think she would be happy to live outside if I was also living outside.

What do you mean by pocket dogs? There are toy breeds, which are generally very small. My dogs are all in the 6-8 lb range, which is within their standard. Papillons have been this small for centuries judging by the paintings with them in them. Teacup dogs are a fad nowadays and are not bred by reputable breeders. They typically involve just breeding for size, which is never good.

What are your dogs Thankful for?
Published (2009-11-26 11:13:00)
Ares is thankful for yummeh food and treats, he's thankful for his mom having learned better ways of doing things so he doesn't have to hurt and be scared, he's thankful for a Morgan to hump. Morgan is thankful for a soft bed to sleep in, ivy to munch on, yummeh treats, belly rubs and a Nyx to play with. Tyr is thankful for a mom who is home a lot, 16 acres to mark on and butt scritches. Nyx is thankful for nothing. Muahahahahah.

I don't think I could get used to that! I've never seen a pittie with a coat even remotely like that, it makes his head look like it doesn't belong to his body, LOL

Ther are plenty of breeds small enogh to be carried round... However anyone purposly breeding dogs small enough as adults to be carried in a pocket is NOT a good breeder. Terms like tecup, tiny toy, pocket ect are buzz words used by petstores mills and back yard breeders to advertise and get more money for their undersized, usually sickly litter runts. The smallest breed is the chihuahua... Breed standar calls for a dog between 3 and 6 lbs......

this morning, wandering down the middle of the road. She's horribly matted and half bald, I don't know what her weight is because she's so scared I can't put hands on her.
She looks like she's been missing for a really long time, or neglected for a really long time.

So... I am doing a project, and I need your help! Again lol
So I have to do a essay, of no more than 500 words, which will be HARD. It has to be on the "5 freedoms" of animal welfare means to me, using my personal experiences, and experiences/opinions of others. So, I want to hear what they mean to you, your opinions on them and any experiences you have had with them! The five ...

I have been teaching my neice (Aubrey, she's 2) commands that the dogs know. Like tell them to come to get them back downstairs, outside for they can get potty. If they get near her, get , off to get off her couch (they are only allowed on one couch).
The new thing is her giving them cookies, and they have to sit before they get one. Usually the dogs bug her and try to steal her ...

I've fostered in the past. My last foster was a 8ish week old Lab pup. It's alot of work, but very rewarding.
It was very emotional for me to foster, because I get so attached to them. But when you find that right home, it does make it easier. That being said, I'm not sure I could foster than much full time. I put too much emotion into them.

I dont think ANY rescue would EVER agree to you keeping the dog outside. And I think It would be very very Selfish of you to go ahead and get the dog.. JMO of course.

Travis came down with a stomach bug on Monday. I took him to the vet and he gave him some antibiotics and gastroped. He seemed to be on the mend and was much better yesterday. He started refusing food this morning. I took him back and the vet seems to think it is a virus. I am battling to get him to drink and he is totally refusing food.
Hopefully the anti nausea shot will start ...
