Japanese-Style Grooming!

Re: Japanese-Style Grooming! The Japanese are VERY creative and unique in their grooming. Notice the bell bottom legs on most of those dogs too? That yorkie with the butterfly ears is adorable..but I admit, I would have a really hard time doing that trim cause it goes against ALL I have in me to leave what I would consider scraggly, untrimmed anything..LOL I love their faces on the poodles though..its a very cute look, and about the opposite...

Re: Japanese-Style Grooming! The third mini schnauzer is really the only one I like. Not a fan of these small dogs. Most cuts just make them look to prissy and delicate. My girlfriend's cousin's Mini Schauzer was a shaggy when they first got him and I liked him so much like that. Then they took him to PetSmart to get him groomed and sure it made it easier to tell what breed he was, but he lost that appeal he had before. I don't...

What brand of dog clippers do...
Published (2009-12-08 23:49:00)
I never used Oster when I groomed; I've used Andis, and have never been disappointed. I even still have my very first clipper that I bought (over 10 years old) and all I've done is replace the housing, brushes, and quite a few blade drivers...other than that, it's not have anything major go wrong with it, and still runs really well.

All of your schnoodles are absolutely adorable. There is one thing that I am curious about; how is it that some schnoodles come in white? I know that some poodles are white but the schnauzer does not come in white. Do any of you know the colour of both parents of your schnoodle??

I usually bathe my girls after a week, because I like them to always be fresh and clean. Three weeks is the longest they've gone with out baths. And your right.. they feel incredibly dirty. I really don't like the feel of a dirty coat. Since I have started volunteering at the shelter here, I have actually been giving dogs baths to get them cleaned up and feeling nice. I think it will help them ...

I actually have a Dremel Pet Tool that I got at PetSmart. It's not a pedipaws - it's exactly like a dremel with a high and low setting. I don't know what speed either setting is, but I figure the high speed is safe for my dog's big nails. It probably says somewhere in the instruction manual what the rpm is. It's 4.8 V.

She is DARN cute! I hate to say it, but she is leaning more towards schnauzer than poodle, and would be easy to put in a schn trim..but since you don't like that look...I would just go with a one length all over on the body..whatever length you prefer and want to maintain, and a round teddy bear type face. If you let the ears get too long, the weight of the hair will "lay" them down, and they ...

I like Andis. I've never used an Oster, but I did have some other off brand that didn't work at all.. It couldn't even cut the hair. My Andis powers through everything with ease, and I've never noticed it getting too hot. I haven't found anything to be unhappy about with them.

Your ideal slicker is going to be firm, NOT soft. You want less pins, but firm pins...not tons of soft pins as that won't sink down to the skin. Most new slickers are sharp, don't worry about that when you are slicker shopping. Just brush the concrete sidewalk at home for a few to dull them up. Here is my favorite slicker, but cannot be bought "over the counter". http://www.ryanspet.com/...
