Thanks guys... I'm just so bummed I can't hardly bear it. Yes we can try again but it will be too late for all of the events I really wanted to attend. Oh well I guess Summer is a better time for her to be due anyway.

Well, you might say this experience has changed my thinking-including the parents'. Mandy is getting spayed and I forgot to mention that the puppers are also being given away on those conditions. How I would love for someone to pay me for the expenses (over $300 so far) of these terrors but I can't see anyone willing to pay a cent for so many mixes. Mind you, I would. I just can't put a price on them and expect any buyers in...

My first thoughts?....You are STUCK. You signed the contract and the contract is binding unless you have the money to hire a lawyer and fight the breeder in court. Are you allowed to have your dog collected? I ran into something like this a few weeks ago while looking at a pup. The breeder emailed me back and asked if I would be showing the dog in which I said yes, but it would only be local shows. She emailed me back and said she was fine...

How long before she is in heat again? Again I am sorry you missed out on pups this go round...but everything happens for a reason so there must be a reason why it didnt happen this time.

Quote: The doctrine of unconscionability is a fact-specific doctrine arising from equitable principles. Unconscionability in standard form contracts usually arises where there is an "absence of meaningful choice on the part of one party due to one-sided contract provisions, together with terms which are so oppressive that no reasonable person would make them and no fair and honest person would accept them." Thanks guys!! She came home a tad spoiled I believe, but we're glad to have >>> I didn't mean for her to be gone that long, I wanted her home after two weeks then back out for the big shows at the end of the year. But Allison did a great job conditioning her. It was real nice to be "home" again, I spent most of my life within a couple of hours of ottawa. It's nowhere near the show that it...

Maybe there are people out there she does not want to breed to her dog. You might have purchased the dog,but it is still her line you would be spreading around. If that is what the contract says, then you should stick to it.Who would know better what bitches to bring to your stud?

Wow, that's a really interesting mix... Nothing really to add on my end, but I can envision some of the comments.. "that's why you never inseminate and always natural breed".

I think this if by far the most valuable use of AI, along with allowing the genepool not to be limited by geography. For breeds where longevity is a problem, breeding only to males who have PROVEN their longevity (and keeping in mind that while they may still be alive, most dogs can't breed naturally past 10-12) is a fantastic tool to have available.

You signed, and agreed to it, Not to live up to the deal makes you a liar.
Just because you got a really good dog, and now you've found some interest in breeding the dog, does not nullify the agreement.
Next time do not sign a contract, simply buy a dog, and own it.

Beautiful dogs. Congratulations on both your litters. What made you go for BCs to work cattle? Not that they can't do it, of course, just that I typically think of them more inclined to sheepherding than, say, ACDs.

And now for the three week old shots. The pups in the order they came out.
Queenie ~ Originally the runt but soon doubled in size along with Prince when they got all mumma's milk after eclampsia. She is still a runt in temperament, and will let you do anything to her. A real sweety like my Milly.
Minnie ~ named so because she is a mirror image to her mother (white chest included) ...

In the english mastiff I do believe since they have a difficult time concieving so many started using ai and I do believe it has made the problem worse. I believe if they cannot be bred naturally then they need to be cut from a breeding program. In the sv the type gsd I have it is not allowed to do ai breedings.
