I thought this might be fun since we often try to play 'guess the mix' but don't know the answer. Here are three pics of two dogs that are littermates. Their age is unknown in the puppy pics (I would guess around 3 months), and in the pic where they are older and shown together they are 15 months old. The black-and-white dog weighs 63 lbs in that pic and the black-and-tan one weighs 60 lbs....

I have been thinking Missy is a pitbull lab, but a few behaviors of hers has made me rethink the lab part.. and I would say border collie... She picks up things EXTREMLY easily like a BC, a trick she basically learns in 2-3 tries with simple behavior capturing. More advanced ones takes a little more.. She also tries to herd me at times, running the circle and nips my heels. The tail ...

I keep thinking she's a Lab mix, but with what? She stands about to my knees at her shoulders and weighs about 32 lbs. She's very similar to a yellow lab that has the red ears, but her back has a fair amount of red there too. Shes just about 9 months old now, and the pics here are of her around 6 months old. If need be I can take some new photos of her from better angles. Lulu Josh

This does not come as a surprise to me as far as what canids like to eat - mine will eat fish and love it! This study showed that when salmon becomes available in autumn, wolves in British Columbia eat more salmon and less deer. What I don't quite understand how wolves get the salmon, but I guess that will have to wait for another study. Quote: Results At the ...

Hello, my names Dom and i just singed up. i have recently got a beutiful 2 year old bitch from a rescue home and really want some confirmation from knowledgable people. She's called Dooley and we were told that her owners had said she was a BassetXjack russel. We have since been told by a vet that she does have basset in her but not enough to be a straight X. He thinks she is most likely the ...

I ran across this when looking for DNA info linking wolves to domestic dogs and it didn't fit into the thread, but it seemed interesting enough to post. These dogs look a little like Dingos and their place in the "DNA chain" has yet to be established. But what I think is interesting is the peculiar behaviors that evolved for this specific breed.
