I am happy to say my one dog family is going to become a two dog family very soon, he just has to be neutered first. Bobby is another adopted dog and thanks to him being 2 1/2 I now also know where the shelter I also adopted Susie from is and plan on helping there as much as I can(it is a private shelter - our local Humane Society hardly ever has dogs and is too far for me to walk and volunteer...

While I was there i helped my grandmother as she works in the SPCA over there! So i got to help walk dogs, be around dogs, train and help out with loads of other things aswell! I have only had Punch for a while and all ready he has been called these 'breeds', English boxer, British terrier, Bull dog (I don't think that this person has ever seen one) and he is my English Bull terrier and my other two are as big as GSDs and I have had people ask if they are whippets?

When I come home from work it's all Sophia can do to sit nicely while I get out of the truck or into the house. She'll stay sitting all right, but she wants to get closer to me so she can lick my hand so she'll scoot just a lil closer! Zircon on the other hand - on those rare days when I leave him home - treats me to a happy dance. I'd try to get it on video but I'd probably damage the ...

Yesterday was the most horrible day that I have ever had, in the morning me and my mum was going shopping and my dad was 10 mins away so we left the dogs in the garden, when we got home we got told that next door neighbours Rottie had come through the fence and attacked Punch, later on that day Honey was misbehaving so I got her and started taking her out because she wouldn't stop 'digging' the ...

My good friend knows I belong to this forum and she has asked me to post an odd and disturbing behavior one of her dogs has. I hope this is okay to do - she simply has zero time or I am sure she would join herself. If this is not okay to do - please feel free to remove this post and let me know. So here goes. She has a 6 year old APBT. Her name is Scooby and she is a wonderful, sweet girl that ...

A few monts ago, Max suddenly learnt the word for car, a word I have never tried to teach him on purpose. I said we were going for a walk in the car, and usuaully at the word walkies he trots straight up the path to the farmyard. But this time he went round the side of the house to the car and waited by the door! He's done this ever since when the words "car walkies" are heard. Then the ...

I have an opinion on this one (and probably most of you can guess or already know) but I wanted to throw it out for a poll. Should it be ok for people to bring their dogs along with them everywhere (stores etc) if the dog fits into a purse?

As some of you know I have 2 labs and a shih tzu, but generally in my lifetime I have grown up around Labradors, I have become an expert in the breed so I always know what to expect, but now there is a change, my sister has run into hard times and needed her dog to be cared for so I offered as a last resort, being the dog is a large unneutered Rotti male no one would take him so i enede up with ...

Argh! Do you live near me Sugardog? Because that sounds so much like our neigbors it isn't funny! I saw this coming when they got a puppy. Time after time I'd see them in their yard hollering "come, COME!" at the dog while chasing it to get it back into the house. IF I walked or drove past, it gave full chase. It didn't take long before that dog was an older puppy and tied up outside ...
