Post # 200 King-- The Air/Fuel ratio, or A/F, is simply the mass ratio of air to fuel as it enters an engine on its intake stroke. An engines A/F will have a direct affect on engine performance. There are three basic things that your engine must have to work properly. They are fuel, air, and spark. The goal is to have the air and fuel mixed to a point where every last bit of both the air and fuel are used in the combustion cycle. When we...

Viper gets "Dised"again.

Post # 7 I sure wish the vette had to run head to head against the Viper again.Remember last time ?No contest...so GM whines and they make a class just for the vette and amzing it wins ! 638 hp eh ? But,will it run at sustained speeds for more than a dyno test ? If they can all just rein in all this "most, best" deal and get back to making reasonable cars we could afford again,it would be a win,win deal.

Post # 8 Haven't seen a ZR1 or a Viper ACR race yet. They both did the Nurburgring which is a ~13 mile long race track without issue - lap after lap to try and set the best time. Why would Dodge waste their time bringing their 426 "New Hemi" crate motor upto current emissions specs, only to have it put maybe 500 HP, when they have an 8.4 V10 that puts out over 650HP (rated at 600, dyno tests show around 650) and still...

Most places won't touch the stock y-pipe due to current laws I guess. Tampering with emmisions is a no no I guess. I'm trying to find a shop to make me one to. No need to remove the cats though. All you need is a better crossover and y-pipe. Running the cross over behind the tranny cross member and using a Pacesetter ...

I had that same issue early on. But after reading the owners manual it said to continue driving as normal. After cycling the engine a few times and driving around for a while the light should go off. Mine did exactly that. So my advice would be to just keep driving it for a few days and see if it clears itself up.

I'm not sure just how much you can get out of an 87/89 tune with these engines. They are already running quite high compression, and Dodge is probably pushing the spark timing to the limit already to squeeze as much HP as possible out.
You may have to bite the bullet and start using 91/93. Its an extra what? $2.50...

Sorry, but you will NEVER see a Viper without a V10, and it will never be cheap enough to be considered as an average car. Fiat owns Ferrari, and they know how important an image is too low volume high costs car. Taking the V10 out of the viper, and sticking a HEMI in its place is akin to taking the legendary high ...
