Oil In Cat?
Published (2009-12-04 16:42:00)
Post # 6 When it first started acting up, I put fresh plugs in because that usually fixes it. After changing plugs with no improvement i got my scanner out and got fault codes 0201 and 0202 which are fuel injector codes. After testing for power I changed those two injectors. Now when i scan it I get codes 0201 and 0208, so cylinder two has now moved to cylinder eight with no change at cylinder one. The worst part is it is blowing white smoke...

Post # 8 4wd at 75, why? If you slowed down you probably could have gotten by in 2wd. Never have used 4wd over 45, because if the road conditions are bad enough that I need it, they are bad enough to slow down. Better late than dead. I use 4wd out on trails or the middle of a field. Same for plowing, go ahead and plow faster, we got 2 guys at work that plow over 15 and every damn snow storm they break the plow. Catch a curb or a parking block...

Search on plugged oil pump screen, I think I remember reading about guys having that problem.
If it were mine I'd fix the problem and drive it, if you hurt a bearing you'd know it.
I hate to link stuff from other sites and I hope it's allowed. Here's a few guys with the same problem, read to the last one....

for: 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x2 5.2L NV3500 Club Cab
Napa Premium Rotor NB 4886446 $64.99
specs on napa's site.
This rotor comes with bearing races already pressed in. I had to remove them to my chagrin. I just didn't trust them to mate exactly - had no idea how good or bad the mfg of the race is....

Have you checked all the coolant hoses or replaced them all? They may have a small hairline crack in them that leaks.

when my cat when bad I lost ALL power! It was like someone replaced my 360 with a 3 cyl out of a metro. I just cut the side of my cat and gutted it. That cost me nothing.

front axle ujoint make more noise in 4wd and turning
you need to check free play in the driveline,
exessive clunking is a sign
sound like front axle hanging up finally disconnecting at fwy speeds
but you should never use 4wd over 40-45 mph

Does the fog wipe away clean? Any abnormal smells coming from heater? If the fog doesnt wipe away easy and smells sweet like coolant, means your heater core is leaking.

what t-stat do you have in it? It could also be a plugged heater core, you might try doing a flush on it a water hose.
