Well, the P1740 code popped up again on me for the second time in less then 2 years. Last time it cost my almost 2 grand. So, I got to thinking about how hard it would be to swap out the 46RE for a manual or 727 transmission. Has anyone done this before? i found a good deal on a rebuilt 2500 tranny. it is from a 1996 2500 4x4 Gas. i have a 96 1500 4x4 gas and was wondering if the tranny would work in mine.

my friend says his stock 93 ford with a 4.9 i-l can out pull my 98 ram with a 360 3:73 gears and dana axles

so tell me folks why does nobody go with the holley. i woudl guess price but is there a difference in performance?

i hav a 97 ram with 90,000 miles. My oil light keeps coming on and the oil presser keeps droping or sit at 0 and my oil tem at 210 just drive down my road. Is my oil pump going? I put a new oil presser send unit or what ever you want to call it. i really need help. i think my motor done. It still starts and drives up just not the same for some reason.

OK got trans back in truck, used Amsoil syn fluid to help keep overdrive happy. Only thing is i have a slight slippage from 2nd to 3rd gear, at least i think it is slippage. Is there any adjustment to fix this problem. Any input welcome.

I may have stumbled on to something here, My 01 1500 318 used to get 12.5 to 13 mpg, now I am getting as of today 15.5, as the weeks go by I hope to be getting 17 to 20, laugh if you want, my wife is getting better mpg with her 96 intrepid.
