They aren't fixing our dashes, front end problems, and brakes. So they are not going to do anything about lift pumps, fuel pressure gauges etc. Step 1 - Install fuel pressure gauge Step 2 - Install FASS or Airdog replacement lift pump Step 3 - Add 2 stroke oil to fuel every fill-up. Step 4 - Drive and enjoy truck. It isn't hard guys. I am not trying to be rude, just making a point that this has been known for years and years yet...

Well.. NAPA was wrong! They dont have the hose. Its a dealer only item. The hose that I have is okay I just cant get it loose from the broken line. My next plan is to get a 12" hard line and a double flare tool and couple them together. It should work.

you said 99 but below says 98.5. but anyway. if you have never replaced the thermostat or dont know if it has I would for safe measure. normally there is a 180 or 190 degree one. but if your going up and down I-5 up by like shasta with cold temps I can see a little colder but shouldnt be moving the needle drastic. check with the thermostat and go from there.

Do you have your radiator blocked off? Yes, these trucks run cold when not worked. When I had my 2000, I ended up replacing the thermostat. If you do that, only buy a original Cummins part, expensive but they work.

Sounds like your posi clutches are all worn out. If your truck did come with a posi trac you should have been adding the friction modifier to gear oil when changed. You can pull cover and see if open case diff or posi installed. If it is posi most likely clutches are burnt out , if fluid is black and really smelly then clutches are toasted.

If you changed the APPS you must reprogram the PCM by performing an APPS

The new owner bought a used truck.
I believe the 0216 code is the IP death code.
Did you promise him anything?

There is no need ro remove the diff cover, just the axle shaft/bolts, and the spindle nut. I have reused my outer axle seals 2x now with no problems. You may wanna replace the wheel seals however when you have it apart...
BTW RTV is fine for the diff cover...

A few guys on here have installed 12v electric solenoids like from older
cars with AC. Put it on a sw and you can bump the idle anytime.

Is it possible that the apply pin that goes between the wheel cyl. piston and the brake shoe wasn't engaged properly with the shoe? When you step on the pedal this would allow the piston to extend too far, and fall right out of the wheel cylinder.

Sounds to me like the dreaded " Dead Pedal", sign of impending VP44 failure, the ultimate curse of Gen 2. I certainly could be wrong here. Beyond recoomendations from here, might be good to have a competent independent shop check it out. Has the VP been replaced, how many miles on the truck?
