Yep. The chassis is in great condition with only 75k miles and I love driving this car. Not to mention the crash ratings which is why I picked it in the first place for my daughter to drive. She calls it the USS Intrepid. I hope to get 110k miles out of this car after I get all this done. I did have another question. Should I loctite (blue) any of the bolts like the water pump, chain guides or just torque them to spec?

The FSM doesn't call for it so I didn't put any on mine. Hopefully it should be ok and not come apart.

A update on my car

Today I bought a IAT sensor. I had to cut a hole in the intake elbow to install the sensor since the current elbow is from a 98-2001. The old sensor was indeed bad and I had it installed on the K&N intake where the valve cover line use to plug into before I switched to a breather filter.

2.7 or 3.x?

From talking to a guy at work who used to work at chrysler (R/D I think), he says people he talked to at chrysler said (though mostly they wanted to avoid this subject) they have found some problems and fixed them... But because these people obviously didnt want to announce this to the world, it is not clear exactly what they fixed, other than various speculations on the internet. My guess is the 04 2.7 has some unseen improvements. I...

The fronts are 3/16 I am pretty sure. You can take a piece of the brake line to the parts store and match it just to be sure.
Also, you can order the brake line pre-bent and ready to install from the dealer, less than $30. That could be an easier way than making one yourself, and no question on size or fit.

The throttle cable is connected to the gas pedal, it clips into the top of it. There is another clip that holds the throttle cable grommet where it goes thru the firewall, on the inside. follow the cable, and it will end at the throttle body. On both engines, it clicks into a bracket near the throttle body, and the cable itself attaches to the linkage on the throttle body. Remove it ...

Shop put the thermostat in backwards....good grief. They owe Rob a new engine just for that. They must not have even test drove it. It would have overheated in 15 minutes.

I think you need to replace the cylinder head, there was a TSB for P0300 and it involved replacing the head, sounds like the valve guides are too tight after the engine warms up causing the valves to stick and hang open.

On the missing/bucking, check the spark plugs, fuel pressure, and look for vacuum leaks/damaged broken vacuum hoses.
Check the battery cables and connections, especially the fusible link in the alternator cable (green wire about 6 inches from the battery in the smaller red cable), its common for them to cause a bad connection, or alternator issues. You may have 14 volts at the ...

Ive used Mobil 1 and either a Mobil 1 oil filter, or a Mopar oil filter, never a tick since day 1, with 40,000 miles on my engine in the trep.
Ive got dino oil in my Concorde ATM, with a NAPA filter, and I get the startup tick all the time. That is changing this weekend. Going to go with the Mobil 1 and a Mopar filter, and the tick should be gone. Those two filters have the best...

5,000 mile oil changes on the 2.7 is waaay too much. 3,000 miles on synthetic is what most people do.Check your PCV valve. make sure it is clean and the hoses as well. If it is clogged it will make you burn oil.
The 2.7 is a notorious sludge monster. Even with 3,000 mile oil changes they can sludge up. Low oil flow resulting and then a rod bearing will go.
If you're on a budget use...

If the tire pressure for the second gens is the same as the first gens(which I couldn't see why it wouldn't be), it is 32 psi. You should be good at 34 psi.

Was there a piece of paper stuck on the end of the Camshaft Position Sensor?
I just replaced mine two weeks ago and it would not start. I pulled it back out, noticed that piece of cardboard/paper stuck on the end and pulled it off. I installed the sensor back in and she started right up.
I think I've read others say that is a spacer that belongs there but at this point,...
