Hello, I would not give this to a child unless advised by your child's doctor. If appetite is a problem, you should have him evaluated by the pediatrician. There are safe appetite stimulants but they should only be used on the doctor's advice. Best wishes.

Hello, This should not be harmful but the main benefit here is the humidity. A cool air humidifier works as well if not better and is safer in a toddler's room since no hot water is involved. But, leaving it on all night is fine. Best wishes.
