Hi, Pseudotumor cerebri (PTC), or idiopathic intracranial hypertension , is a condition characterized by signs and symptomatology of abnormally elevated intracranial pressure (ICP) in the absence of a space-occupying lesion. Can be classified broadly as - primary (idiopathic), meaning that the cause is unknown and - secondary, meaning that there is an underlying cause (other than a space-occupying lesion). Pathogenesis is unknown, but most of...

Could previous head trauma have caused this? I have had a head injury about a year ago, followed by a CT scan (normal), then recurrent headaches on that side of the head.

Experiencing dreams while awake?
Published (2009-12-07 23:57:00)
I am stunned right now!! I have been having these exact symptoms for probably 3 years now, and only on a whim decided to Google them to see if there might be any mention of something similar. I have Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, and have always assumed that these "dream memory flashes" were somehow related to that. I decided to check for more info because the episodes have gotten more frequent. When they first started,...

Brain Fog - disconnected feeling
Published (2009-12-07 14:01:00)
I think that the previous poster is onto something. Crohn's disease is an autoimmune disease, and there are a number of autoimmune diseases that can affect the central nervous system and cause brain fog, ataxia, peripheral neuropathy, etc....all sorts of neurological symptoms. Three of the biggest culprits are celiac disease, lupus, and multiple sclerosis. Fibromyalgia can also cause severe brain fog and weird neuro symptoms. For those of...

Bad Fall: Nerve Pain in Leg, MRI...
Published (2009-12-11 16:51:00)
I fell off a horse two months ago. Since then I've had swelling where impact was and nerve problems since. It was bearable for a bit, but now I cannot lay on my back without having the right side of my leg go numb, down to my right side of my foot. This also happens with bending, sitting, leaning forward etc (after two months, it finally bothered me riding, I was told to continue after my first doctor visit and just recently can no longer...

Hello, I'm sure that the doctors would have tested you for MG? I have MG and have severe nasal/slurred speech. Mine is also very bad in the morning, even though MG typically presents with fatiguable weakness (in other words, speech would be better in the morning as opposed to evening). Lambert Eaton Myasthenic syndrome can sometimes present with bulbar symptoms and might cause morning weakness that would improve with movement. Have you...

Hi, It is almost like trying to find the proverbial needle- in- the -haystack! Here are some guesses.... a) Ventricular diverticulae (less probable going by the amout of information provided) : by far more commonly associated with obstructive than with communicating hydrocephalus. Hi, Some experimental studies on animals have reported some of the toxic effects from concentrated gasoline vapour which consist primarily in very characteristic convulsions finally resulting in respiratory paralysis, myocardial depression and death. In the industrial context, gasoline engines are said to be dangerous in tunnels where the ventilation is not extremely efficient, and should ...

I know exactly what you are talking about. I am 35 years old and I have been diagnosed (2 1/2 years ago) with simple partial seizures. I also have a vivid memory that seems like a dream and then I sometimes feel nautious. For years, I called them "deja vu" . I started having this happen in my twenties, at least. At one point they came a little more frequently and then, one day I had a really...
