I'm a 25 year old female. About 3-4 months ago I noticed a hardish lump beneath my right ear, just on my jaw. I hadn't been ill, had a cold, or had a sore throat. The doctor gave me some antibiotics but I had to go back when i started get pain in upper back - around my lungs. They did a full blood count, ESR, thyroid, liver and kidney test, and monospot, all negative. The back pain has got worse,...

Hello, This is probably a lymph node enlargement. Lymph nodes in this area get enlarged when inflammation or infection occurs in the area drained by them like the scalp, the skin of the neck, and the ear. Pain and tenderness are commonly seen when the lymph nodes are infected or inflamed. This may be the sole cause (primary) of the node enlargement or in association with another underlying ...

Hi there, I am a 21 year old female and in november last year I had strep throat and have had persistent swollen lymph nodes under my jaw ever since about 1.3cm. In february I noticed another one that has been described by several doctors as being between 1.3 and 1.5 cm on the right side of my neck. I had a couple of doctors say they thought it was nothing to worry about and was sent to a ...

I am a 28 year old female, no history of disease, my grandfather had leukemia but other than that no other family history of any disease. The only medication I am currently on is Implanon for birth control. I do smoke, hardly ever drink and don't do drugs. I am very thin, about 105-107 lbs & 5'4, I have been able to feel (and see the little bumps) lymph nodes in my groin area for about 6-8 yrs....

Around a year ago, I came down with a severe sore neck, a cold...and the lymph node on the left side of my neck, on the front near my jaw became a little larger and a fair amount harder. I was still able to "wiggle" it around a little bit, but to be on the same side, I had some blood tests (beta hcg and alpha feta protein spelling?) just to be on the safe side and they came back totally clear ...

Hello, Breast consistency differs based on changes in the blood levels of female hormones, thus exogenous hormones like those contained in the contraception pills induce breast changes as your doctor explained. Regular self examination and clinical examination is important to follow up these changes and to exclude a suspicious breast nodule. Bilateral small axillary nodes that are less than 1cm...

Hello, I suspect these are enlarged lymph nodes. The lymph system works constantly to keep infection at bay by producing lymphocytes and monocytes. It also absorbs and moves fatty acids to the circulatory system, and it removes interstitial fluids from the tissues. These nodes are numerous in the arm pit and some variation such as you describe can be normal. I'm glad you have consulted with...

Hello, It is good to know the underlying cause of your symptoms and be reassured. It is true that growth factor administration causes bone pain (mainly backache) in many patients, actually it is seen in practice more than that reported. When the bone marrow is stimulated to produce new blood cells by growth factors, the pressure inside is increased and some hormones are released, changes that ...

Hello, I went to my PCP on 08/05 for what seems to be a swolen lymph node in the crease between my peg and pelvis...menstrual irregularity, blood tinged vaginal discharge varying from mucous to thick and white to clear, leg discomfort, pelvic pain, and lesions that have appeared and have spread all around the outside of my vagina opening and up to the clitoris. I had a blueish "dot" seven years ...

In December I went to my regular gyno appointment and mentioned a non-tender yet movable lump that was in my left groin that was smaller than a pea. He said that if it didn't go away in a few weeks he would put me on antibiotics. After 5 weeks he started me on Cipro, yet the lump did not go away (to me it felt a bit smaller, but was still there). After the Cipro I returned to my Dr. and he ...
