Installing DSL

the network is definitely working, so I guess I won't worry about it. Now you said the incoming line (blue wires) should be hooked up to pins 4-5, which according to both 568A & B are the blue wires, I should already be fine. As I mentioned I had already terminated the incoming line to one of the RJ45 jacks in the patch panel, so it should already be hooked up how I need it right?

I think I was editing while your were replying, and then the server disconnected me. Anyway, yes... just punch down on blue and you should be good to go.

Nice troubleshooting! What happened between last Tuesday and today? Anything? Things seem to be pointing to the router. Either it's blocking the site or the ISP is blocking the router (or one of its settings).

There's a couple things you can do. Run Disk Cleanup (accessories > system tools > disk cleanup) then highlight temporary internet files, then select view files. This will allow you to look at all of the junk that web pages stick in your cache when your browsing. Rebroadcasting is it illegal, but if they stick a copy of it on my pc, then I'll keep a copy it for my own use if I want to. The other thing you can do if you browse...

Thanks for the input...nothing has changed. Also, both my laptop and my desktop pcs are affected by this issue, so it isn't a program or anything that was installed on either machine that is causing this, IMHO anyway. 1. if the isp is blocking my router, wouldn't more things be blocked, not just the traffic over port 21? 2. if it is the router, besides putting it in the DMZ to rule out port blocking by the router, what else could it...

I am running XP Home Edition. Well anyway my "sounds " have gone goofy. I know how to go to start, control panel, sounds and set as windows default. When I go to some of the individual sounds it shows a "sound" icon but when I click on it to verify or set it it says that the file is not found. In other words some of the "default" sounds are actually missing

Hello My daughter + I read the license for M.S. Home Office Student '07'. It appears as tho you can let one third party use the disk so I used it on my pc. In the future, if either of us needs to reinstall the os(with reformatting) can we call M.S. to ask them to activate the program as the activations/installs are maximized? If so, what is the number? If not please tell me a bit about this....

I recently finished wiring my house up with a home network. The work was partially done as all the rooms had rj45 jacks already wired up. All I had to do was buy a patch panel and hook everything together in the utility room. When I did the wiring to the patch panel, all the pins on the panel were color coded so I simply matched the wires up. This seems to have worked fine as the home network...

The condo was prewired for a home network, so all the "telephone" cords wired through the house are actually cat5e cables, including the incoming line.
