Just because there sighted more often when the water is warm, doesn't make them common to the area all year round like C. truncatus is. FYI, I spotted one off Nth Bowen during last winter and a couple off Governor's Head, but consistntly sighting them at any time of the year relies...

> Yes. She's an excellent dive, if you can get to her and we have some incredible memories - I think she rivals Yongala as a dive. The site is plagued by massive current, so you have to be careful about when you go, otherwise you can spend a good part of your trip cooling your heels. It is only 10 metres to the gunnels and very easy to spot when the current is running because the water literally boils over her. We did 2 trips when...

I just found the Dive-Oz Water Temperature page. I do believe that the water temps will be too cold for us in the Mel / Vic area. We could handle 16 C water but 13 C water will definitely be outside our comfort zone. TomC

Look, what i did when i didn't have a car, was to join one of the independant clubs,,, ie the BSAC, VSAG, Getunder, Brudg, Monash Uni, clubs of this world,, i then pre-arranged with my dive buddies that i would say, get the train down to Frankston...

There's good boat dives available. check out Noosa www.divenoosa.com. Rainbow Beach www.wolfrockdive.com.au/ Two hours north, 20-35m deep and bigger things (Grey Nurse Sharks, Groupers, Rays) and the dive shops at Mooloolaba that mainly go out to the exHMAS Brisbane, which is a good dive with plenty on growth on it and clouds of fish.
