Hi, No problem. What I wrote still applies. When I say to use the After Update event, I mean the After Update event of the control--your e-mail text box--not the After Update event of the form. To create a macro or an event procedure to do this right-click on the e-mail address text box and choose Properties. Click on the "Event" tab. Click in the "After Update" line. You will see a button with...

I was afraid of that. Thanks for all the help though! At least I now know what the problem was. Thanks again Bonnie. But that is way beyond me. All I was hoping to do was remove a row in Excel from Access. Didn't know it was going to be so complicated! Genxer, You would need to re-create and save each macro to a standard macro or macro group, and then assign this saved macro to the required event properties. Because of these types of problems, it is often recommended that databases be developed using the earliest version of Access that will be used in practice for the deployment. -- Steve Schapel, Microsoft Access MVP "1genxer"...

I'm going to add just a few details of the copying just to be a little more clear in what I'm hoping for. 1) Open excel file 1 2) Copy A2$:BR2 3) Insert Copy into "Master File" 4) Close excel file 1 5) Open excel file 2 6) Repeat step 2 7) Insert Copy in next row of "Master File" 8) Close and repeat. Also, there might be a slight problem opening a file from the File->Open menu....

Since doing something to personal.xls (I think it was removing the read only on the file so that I could edit macros) it now always opens when I open Excel. Everything is ok, its just that I occasional start to put stuff into it. Does thus mean that I have done something wrong or do I just have to put up with it? ...

I recently installed Office 2007 on my computer, including Access. I have a control on a form, a combo box, that is, set the value to spaces for the Lost Focus event. I want to use the macro builder to set the value. When I list the available actions by clicking the down arrow in the 'Action' column in the macro builder, I do not see...

I have a AutoKeys macro setup that currently has 1 line in to do a Ctrl+Shift+C key stoke. I would like to be able to also capture when the enter key is pressed and based on the SendKeys help this should be accomplished by putting {ENTER} OR {~} in the Macro Name column. When I goto save the Macro with either one of these in ...

My employeer wants me to find a way to create a macro that can open an excel file, copy a line, paste it into a master file, and then move to the next file and repeat. There are approximately 400 files/master file. All I've been able to do is to record a macro that opens the same file. I am new to the macro world and would appreciate a ...

In OE, I used an Excel spreadsheet macro to import/export/edit the phrases used in my mail rules criteria. It not only backed up and restored the message rules but read out, in plain English, the email addresses I used as criteria and allowed me to edit and add to them and rewrite them to the registry. This is described under the title ...

Ok I have spent hours looking here and online for a solution to my problem but cannot find one. Hopefully someone can help. I created a simple database for organizing a movie collection. It has simple macros to open and close forms, and a macro that allows movies to be loaned to friends and then returned to the database. This is ...

Hi I have inherited a few databases and there are regular reports I now have to run from them. Macros have been set up, but I would like to make the report easier.
