  If you only have a SoundBlaster 5.1 PCI card then it is not a Live! 5.1 or Audigy card and the driver workaround isn't for you. If there is no generic MS driver provided in Vista that works with your card you might as well buy a new sound card. Creative lists the products that they support with drivers for Vista on this page: - click on "Vista Driver Availability Chart ..."...

  Yes that will work with most BIOS'. That won't hide the drive from the other OS though. You will still run into issues with System Restore if you dual boot XP and Vista. When you boot XP it will overwrite the System Restore files on the Vista drive. The only way to avoid this is to hide the Vista drive with a boot manager, physically disconnect it, or if the BIOS has the option disable it when running XP. Yes you should...

I have an USB Maxtor harddrive. I assisted a Computer Club member setting up his new Acer computer running Window Vista Home Premium. The cabling to the Samsung 35in TV/Monitor is HDMI. All manuals state no other audio cables are necessary. I have been unable to start sound. If I plug standard speakers into the output jacks on the computer, all is well.... Any thoughts...
