Sorry, but this newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's part of Office Professional. Your question would be best reposted to a more appropriate newsgroup.

Now, it could be that it's very...

Published (2009-11-28 11:50:00)
I did a quick google on VB object converters and I see the product that I think you are talking about. While I have never used this Access to VB tool, I would guess it's not as easy as advertised to take a complete Access application and switch it to a VB or VB.NET application. Reporting for one in VB or VB.net usually works with a different product other than Access. Your back-end access database can probably stay the same,...

Hi JZ,
Do any of the other Office 2003 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
run successfully? Try locating msaccess.exe, right-click on it, and select
Run As Administrator. Does this make a difference?

That error message usually occurs if you have more than one form open that
are bound to the same table either directly or through a query. Check if
this is the case.

Using runtime access, any unhandled errors do exactly what has happened to
you.
In an accdb file, if you get an error, access can open the debug window and
tell you there is an error.
In the runtime, instead of getting a message about the same error, the
runtime will just shutdown the database.

I have been in your exact same shoes and I find that the answer will depend
on a variety of factors and one must select the best tool for the job - so to
speak....
one option is the www.AccessTables.com service; this allows everyone to
operate a copy of the Access db locally and then you send in the tables -
they consolidate/...

You really want the code in a separate procedure and then call it from the
AfterUpdate event of the TType control *and* the Current event of the form.

You'll need to supply more details. What kind of errors are you getting?
What action causes them?
For what it's worth, there's no reason for the back-end to be an MDE. MDEs
are intended for code, not data.

Technically no for a few reasons.
1. There isn't a 'middle' of a table. If you add records in a certain order
in a table, there's now guarentee that the next time that you open a table
that the records will be in the same order.
2. Access doesn't have table triggers or any other way to increment numbers
at table level. ...

Why not just include code in the front-end to determine where the back-end
is and relink?
