No. I use the same operating system and software for years (at work) and the only thing new is IE8. It was not happening in IE6. There are more people having this kind of problems. I wasn't even aware that there was a "Tabbed Browsing" options button on the General Tab. I guess I should have looked at the various tabs closer, but with my failing 68 year old eyes, I'm lucky to see anything. Anyway, resetting the tab options to default did the trick. Thanks, Robert. Never mind, I solved my problem.
The solution was to go into Default Programs/Set Program Access and Computer
Defaults. I chose Windows Live Mail as the email program and that corrected
the problem.

Early results are good. Scripts ARE faster. In fact, they're much faster.
Furthermore, some sites that I had trouble with in IE7 now work, such as
