I just installed Windows 2003 R2 Standard DC server. On it I installed IIS 5 with SMTP server. The last piece is Windows Sharepoint 2.0. I have Sharepoint setup with Alerts and email sent to the users. Sharepoint uses SMTP to send the emails. But all my emails end up in the SMTP queue. They do not go out. I downloaded a tool smtpdiag and ran it on the server. I get an error saying that my ISP will not accept mail from this unknown...

This was basically just set up to allow server1 to send me certain status updates via email, such as Norton Ghost 12 confirmation emails, low disk space alerts, etc....

Is it possible to have an 'allowed list' of email addresses, so only email sent to those addresses can be delivered? I am trying to set up a local testing SMTP server and allow only certain internal emails to be sent by this server (and not external clients, or internal employees who are not interested in the testing).

Each is configured with a smart host (our exchange server which has MX priority of 15). It seems the emails for local addresses just keep getting sent from one web server to the next and never make it to...
