Without seeing the Access macro, I don't know why the legend isn't where you want it. Unfortunately MS has made some formatting options of charts much more difficult. Right click on the legend, choose Format Legend, then on the first pane of the dialog, choose the legend position that you want. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP Tutorials and Custom Solutions Peltier Technical Services, Inc. -...

Smartin, Thank you so much for your insights! As I am still learning about polynomial trending and its value, they are helpful. So, let me see if I understand what you are saying. Let's say, for instance, we are talking about fluctuations in gas prices at the pump over the last x number of years, and we see how they've gone up and down and up and down and now are waaaaayyyy down (hallelujah! I paid $2.19 yesterday, a...

Cath - The reduced gradient for a nonlinear optimization problem is similar to reduced cost for a linear problem. At the optimal solution of a linear problem, for a variable not in the solution, i.e., for a changing cell equal to zero, the reduced cost measures how much the target cell would change if the currently-zero changing cell is forced to be one instead of zero. For a nonlinear problem, at the stopping point of the...

I can draw a line chart o/k but not a graph that starts at x=0,y=0. Obviously, this is because the x axis in Excel is divided up into domains, from 0 to 1, 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc and x values are shown as mid-ordinate values. However, I want to plot the line graphs y=39000+3x, and y=2800+2x and show the crossoverpoint at 61000 where it ...
