Fabulous! Weather, superb. Visibility, most excellent -- 20 ft. vis all the way down to 50 ft., and up to 40 ft. vis below that! Water temp still temperate -- 64 F down to 42 ft., and 55 F below that (until you get to the real cold). Many participants in Underwater Pumpkin Carving and Chili Cook-off, yet not at all crowded. I'll be there again next weekend if anyone wants to ...

Is anyone going to be at Mermet this weekend. Or anyone in the St Louis area that wants to make a day trip down on Sunday morning and come back late afternoon? I am thinking about heading down there on Sunday but as it is kind of late notice I have no buddy. Phil

About 200 divers got to try out DUI suits this weekend at Mermet Springs, and were greeted by spectacular weather and excellent water conditions. While helping get folks suited up in demo suits under the tent, I only witnessed 2 or 3 divers who had to wait for a suit to come back in to get the model or size they wanted to try. Looks like 5 of us from Kansas are headed to Mermet this coming weekend. Definitely 3 divers and maybe 4. We are heading out Fri morning and hope to be there midafternoon. We are staying at the Super 8 in Metropolis - 2 of the group is from the area. Probably won't dive until Saturday. Looking forward to the trip Becky
