im not saying they should or shouldnt include drabek for halladay, but its about 6 years of drabek vs 1 year of halladay.

Phils, Figgins, and other rumors...

I would go: Rollins Figgins Utley Howard Werth Vic Ibanez Ruiz Figgins infront of Utley and Howard, and Vic infront of Ibanez is the way to go IMO.

Howard Needs Winter Ball
Published (2009-11-08 20:57:00)
Ryan went last winter, lost 25+ lbs and worked on his defense. I'm sure he knows what he needs to work on this postseason without winter ball.

i absolutely love that statistic... but sadly... you can throw it right out the window. we are not talking about rich individuals here... we are talking about corperations that make up 99.999999 percent of our economy.... they, not only dodge any corperate tax, but the corperate make up in the courtry is just sad. corperations DO NOT pay enough taxes.... they dont. that stat, that has 1% paying over 90% of the taxes is not only a huge...

Drabek v. Halladay
Published (2009-11-11 14:25:00)
I know some of the fans on the board don't agree with this, but if you look at Hamels career path in the minors, it is very reasonable that you could see Drabek in 2010 in a significant role come all star break (or earlier). He's a full year recovered from his surgery, he has already spent some time at AA. Hamels went like 3 starts in Reading in '05 to end the year, then in '06 he made 5 starts in A, 3 starts in AAA and...

How did Scott Eyre & Raul...
Published (2009-11-10 15:41:00)
I think that's why Raul's stats went down is because of the sports hernia and the right side of his oblique. Hopefully Raul will be as good as new next season. I hope that Scott Eyre will sign again with the Phils.

Zolecki: "Halladay trade...
Published (2009-11-10 23:31:00)
I'm not surprised and neither am I disappointed. I wasn't expecting a huge trade or signing this off season. just basic needs signings like bench, RP and possible a 5th starter.

Bedard had surgery and not due back until mid spring. It's unclear if the Mariners are interested in keeping him around to rehab with the hopes of having him on the cheap if he's able to get healthy again.

The stats you chose to show really show little to nothing (ironic considering your s/n). Just an FYI.

The first is Rich Harden. Harden, when healthy, is a stud pitcher.********* That's the key, when healthy. We don't need another Freddy Garcia episode. The problem with Harden is his high pitch count, low number of innings. Don't get me wrong but when he is on he is very good As far as 3B is concerned ********************** I wouldn't be surprised if that plane came from the south in the way ...

My all-time favorite player. Jr. is the man! And I the thing that makes me respect him even more is that not once have you heard his name in any PED talks. A-Roid, Manny, etc., have nothing on Jr.

i never understood how people could love a racist, animal hunting, redneck... who blundered everything he ever did. BUT.... hated the one guy whos trying to get the rich to pay their fair share of taxes to undo the burden on the middle class. thats what this is all about bro... rich people dont want to pay taxes.... and they are willing to throw poor, working class people under the bus to ...

It's a nice thought, but obtaining all of those players would add too much payroll vs. what the Phillies would be willing to spend.

Too bad for him he didn't think of it when he was a manager. Now he is just Joe's b*tch.

Yes I heard it, and I couldn't believe it. I am wondering though, I don't remember if Mitch Williams was "ditched" by the Phils after he gave up the homerun to Joe Carter. You don't just "ditch" a young pitcher who was your main reason you won the World Series last year. Mitch said Cole had an easy time last year and this year he didn't. And he wants to trade him. Geesh ..

Exactly... we've still accomplished more in the last 3 years than anyone in the game. Period. The Yankees had a great year - and I'm sure everyone is going to work to improve in the offseason, now we will see if they can do what we did and get back for a shot at back to back titles. I'd love to be the ones there to deny them.

Really nothing. The only change I could see is at 3rd base.

First manager to win a WS in 28 years, and first manager to win back-toback pennants. The players love him and play their @sses off for him. You are a <moron.

Sign Cliff Lee and Jayson Werth to 3 year deals that gives them to us for 4 more years each. Sign Shane Victorino to some sort of a contract how many years and $$$$$ is to be determined but he can fly after next season as well. Sign Feliz for one more year since the guy is a stud at 3rd base. I also think you need to re-sign Brett Myers he had injuries this year but has always been a work horse...
