Strategically I think we should develop independent means of fuel supply even if it means alternatives to fossils fuels. Then we can't blame everybody else if we screw up. Only a few miles from me is the largest wind turbine farm in Europe - about to expand to 179 turbines producing 593MW - enough to power 275,000 homes it is claimed. I would say don't allow Russia or anyone else hold us to ransome.

Any nation that is allied with China has free reign because China owns our debt.

I think we do need it! Really, we should develop cooperation with the post-Soviet countries at least because they arrange the transit of Russian gas to Europe. But in this case we must not forget about morals in the first place, which we unfortunately did by accepting dictatorial Belarus...
