When i was in school I used to buy a lot of off brand frozen veggies and pastas. They are pretty cheap usually. To save on things like bread and meat also buy the off brands, get more of whatever is on sale and freeze the bread and meat you wont use soon. I still keep bread in the freezer so it wont go bad (I dont eat a ton of bread) just take some slices out a few hours before you want some and they thaw out really well. Or toast them...

Oh, I forgot to say: JoeV the challot look beautiful! Just as they should. However, for sandwiches, I prefer to bake them in the round coil shape. If you like white raisins, you can knead some in as well. This bread is so amazing it is like cake and makes the most incredible challah french toast. And, it is super easy to make. It was one of my dad's favorite--that some butter and my homemade jam and he was in heaven.

Chicken and Vegetable Pie and Steakhouse Chips maybe with some coleslaw.... all premade only bang it in the oven...I love cooking but since arriving in the UK besides all other costs...buying fresh food to cook is just soooo expensive. Any other poor students here? How do you get your fresh produce and that at an affordable price? What are you eating tonight?

It's a gorgeous fall day here today, which means no rain, and I have a lot planned for dinner tonight. I've had a pork butt on the smoker since 6:00 AM, so pulled pork sandwiches are on the menu. I made up some creamy coleslaw and that's chillin'. (oop , I forgot about those eggs I was boiling and have no idea how long they were boiling for ) OK, back now. I've got a recipe picked out for ...

It is now sunrise on Saturday morning. I have a full day ahead of me. My husband is being interviewed by a college-aged daughter of a friend, and then we will be treated to a slide show of his trips to antartica (not tourist stuff, he was on scientific expeditions). He and I decided to pick up some pizza while the interview is ongoing. Hubby is being interviewed about war, which, when it ...
