Picked up a bunch of books recently that were fantastic, thought I'd share my thoughts on them: Batman: Year 100 - good God, Paul Pope is a genius. Everything about this was utterly fantastic. Some of the dialogue was a little stiff, but the art was amazing and his re-invention of Batman 30 years in the future is brilliant. Strangehaven vol 1: Arcadia -
Gary Spencer Millidge has ...

Avengers #217 This issue was by far THE BEST written
Hank Pym issue I have ever read, and the book that makes current writers look like complete dumb asses in their going back to the "Hank hit Jan" well again. He is set up in a pretty f---ed up predicament by Egghead and proves that an Ant-Man CAN hang with, and quite possibly kick the crap out of the other founding Avengers. Superman ...

I picked the OGN up at the Toronto Fan Expo this weekend, and holy shit, it is, hands-down, the funniest story I've ever read. Completely disgusting, completely inapporpriate, completely
vulgar, and completely entertaining. A bunch of stories about a foul-mouthed, porn-watching, complete asshole of a bear (a cute, stuffed-looking bear). I can't remember the publisher (I'm at work), ...

I'd have to call a tie between
Kang the Conqueror and Mandarin. Despite Kang's brief moment of greatness in Young Avengers and the questionable handling of Mandarin in DoS, these two are kick ass villains that have languished the last 8 years. Any others?

Quick question: Does anyone think that a mass exodus of artist from one of the big companies would make even one-tenth the difference it made back in the day? I don't know there are enough superstar artists that could make a sizeable enough impact. Writers, on the other hand, could potentially cripple one of the big companies if enough of them moved on to
greener pastures. Thoughts?
