If I'm reading your post correctly, you're trying to connect to an
ADSL splitter, which can't be done.
For a wired connection, you'll need to hook-up the PS3 straight to your modem/router via ethernet.

I noticed the PocketStation in that link
I still have my PS1. It's an SCPH-5552 which still works. I got it chipped and bought some US games. Then I found out exactly what you could do with a chipped PS1 .

God of War
Grand Theft Auto
Liberty City Stories or Vice City Stories (DO NOT GET CHINATOWN WARS, it's a crappy port of the DS game)
Dead Head Fred
Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection (Though Tekken 6 is out soon)
Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops
And of course you have a choice of some great PS1 games such as
Metal Gear Solid
Crash Bandicoot
Rayman

I think the connection on the Jabra is small than the one on the controllers.
You can charge your controllers or headsets from more or less any
powered USB port. I charge mine from my Virgin cable box.
