sky mid speed wont go above 8mb...
Published (2009-11-24 16:05:00)
ardsar, the problem I had is that my exchange does not support a 10mb profile, it can only be set to up to 2, 8, 16 or 20 thus anyone on 10mb package (like myself) defaults to the nearest which is 8mb. this therfore makes achieving anything above 8mb impossible. The tech I spoke with was able to change my profile to the up to 16mb at the exchange which allows the extra headroom to achieve up to 10mb (9.6mb in my case) as per the sky package...

I have read that it is open to LLU operators to build/use premises near to the BT Exchange if there is not space in the BT Exchange itself. So it would seem to be possible - in that sense!

Well first off see if your exchange offers LLU from SKY or O2.
I've been looking at O2 and on the surface they look very good, go through Quidco and also a 3 month free offer really is impressive and makes the whole point of SKY using Broadband as a loss leading bundler irrelevant.

They should be able to offer you their ADSL2+ services which means upto 24meg dependent upon line quality and distance from the exchange assuming you take the relevant package from SKY.
I assume the ability of offer LLU services like ADSL2+ goes hand in hand with the ability to take over the line rental provision.
