I have 2 x stbs/ a pvr/ DVDVCR combi and a PC TV tuner card. 5 remotes and I just bought a Universal remote, cos' my PVR remote died. My brother, who edits for BBC News and has access to all the feeds from all over the world, visited last Christmas and threw his hands up in horror. "You sort it out" he said. Sagem DTR67320T was £140 now £97 at my local Asda, I feel gutted because I paid £130. So far I have no problems with its performance.

My main issues are with the Remote not turning on straight away. The long wait for the box to start, occasionally the box not stopping a recording and thats about it...

You could unplug from the mains and give it a while(for all power to dissipate) then turn back on to see what happens. If still no joy then I reckon it's a return to Asda.

My understanding is that if I put a suitable new disk into either of these DTRs I will probably be able to download the software to get it working again on Monday. Does that sound correct?

Shouldn't be a problem. Do other ITV1 programmes record ok? Do other channel pairs record ok? Most likely ITV1 isn't sending the AR signals correctly on your transmitter.
