Did you try Shaw Guru's suggestion about leaving the TV off and trying the remote? You should be able to see the channels change up and down at least on the front panel of the STB. That will tell you if it's the TV or not. The wooden shelf in between may have been the difference or even the dark corner in the room. Give it a try.

Workaround for watching the analogue channels would be a splitter sending signal to the TV itself and you can use the NTSC tuner on the TV (usually one available) to watch analogue for as long as it lasts. Although I can see someone with a preference for watching analogue live, when recording , the signal is encoded and usually loses significant PQ, relative to SD digital since digital is a bit for bit recording and the encoder in these STBs...

Hi Snak-pak. A couple of points. You can use the favourites functionality on your remote to by-pass all the channels you don't subscribe to. I believe this is true for either the Pace or Motorola boxes. I have enjoyed great success with the Motorola boxes over the years (starting in 2001). They tend to be very reliable for the most part. I don't have any experience with the Pace, so you'll have to read others testimony on those...

What if you set the "save setting" to "until I delete" on all 8 shows, does the bug still delete the ninth show of a series?
