The receiver cannot shift time zones at all. It is the programming that is from different time zones. There are no magic buttons etc, you just have to be subscribed to the feeds and you will see them in the Guide.

Buying 9241 vs 6131.
Published (2009-12-24 17:48:00)
9242 is $50 less on it's own right now at the Source! So $400 for existing customers and $200 for new customers.

Bell receivers automatically adjust to your local time zone. (The time zone for the address on the account.) There is no way to do it manually.

Two feeds. It might appear to work, but you'll have trouble with only one feed. -Mike

It was pretty frustrating that after 30mins explaining the situation over and over to the first guy in India, when I finally get transferred to the level 2 tech in Canada, the description he has of the problem is completely wrong Oh well, just a waist of my time and their money.

Rental receiver to new owner

Just as I feared. I guess my only option is to buy a receiver, but maybe I'll just continue using my ancient 5100 for the time being. We were wanting to do this mainly so that the 9200 receiver doesn't go to waste, since it's not being used. Oh well.

Don't underestimate the convenience of dual tuners on a PVR. The 6131 is alright, but it becomes a real pain if a recording is scheduled when you're watching something else.
The 9241 is a single television receiver. You can connect HD televisions to both the HDMI and component video outputs, but you can only watch the same program on each. The 9242 has a (SD only) second television output ...

I just bought a 6131 which I will receive and activate on January 31st, so I will be able to contribute in a short while.
I have a question though, does any one have information on what EHD's can be connected to the 6131 ? Any size, brand, model, RPM requirements ?

Just purchased a 9241 from BW store this week and have recorded several programs successfully. It didn't come with a SW44 switch so I purchased one from a local retailer & will brave the cold this weekend to install it.

I had this same problem. Thought I had a lot of space but recorded a number of HD programs. I had to use lenix to delete several programs before I could access the drive again.

As there are probably hundreds of different drive enclosures out there I think it is very unfair to expect Bell TV to have tested them all and be able to trouble shoot all the different ones available to the Customers.
They also sell the LaCie models, so that could be why they do not get too involved in supporting some of the lesser known versions.

I once had no problems watching disc recorded content on a 5900 with no antenna attached. That might have changed with new firmware though. Just press Menu to get around the error messages.
