Changing name on account???

Another way is to add your name to the account, as in a joint account. In a month or two, ask to remove her name. I've done that with telephone but don't know if it will work with satellite. OTOH, if you both have the same last name, there should be no issue. You might have difficulty getting any new customer promos if either the last name or phone number is the same.

Based on the bitrates discussed in the following thread, I would think that the PQ would be comparable. I suggest you ask the question there, since some of those people may have moved from Satellite to IPTV. http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=114549

Bell TV 2009 New Channels...

As someone previously mentioned, I don't think there is a News & Learning HD package coming. I believe those are just place holders so people looking for certain channles can find them easier in the new lineup. There is Network HD, Movies HD, Sports HD, News & Learning, and Specialty. I don't think these are packages at all.

Just because a receiver is Brand New In Box (BNIB) it does NOT mean it has never been on an account. You should treat this type of receiver, just the same as an obviously used one.

What happens to all the Subscribers who own 3100 and 4100 receivers. Will they be replaced for free by Bell? I own two 3100's and one 4100. I have had the 3100's since Oct 2003 and the 4100 since May 2007. I do not own a HD TV. If bell does not replace these receivers for free I will be switching to Shaw Cable or Shaw Direct the only two other options I have where I live.

I don't think Bell carries any international HD channels, but wait for someone to confirm for sure
As far as getting a dish installed, you may be facing too far south
To be able to receive Bell, you have to face south west, so if you can see the CN Tower, I would guess you have a chance to get it, but won't know for sure until its setup
A good check would be to look at your neighbors above, ...

Yes it is. They been sending out testing firmware for the EV 211 for the past year! So much for their denials of a new receiver in 2007, lying *******s!

I've only been using BEV for about a month now and it's been great so far.
My question is for those who have been subscribing for years; how often are
new channels added to the lineup? If channels are added, do you need to pay
extra if the channel is added to a theme you're already subscribing to?

happy friday, mates! don't rush buying the lastest receivers from bell now. BEV controls the bitrate at their data center. The only things you can do are hdmi & svideo.

I remember when the 6000 was selling for around $600 or more.
ebay pricing is dependant on the card and hackability of the receiver.

Not before time.
Funny that they are now following Telus's business plan, the 6131 or the 9241, nothing else.

Shouldn't be too hard, just tell them that you guys are sepearating. She might need to call in though to transfer the ownership to you. Cost wise, there shouldn't be any fee's that I'm aware of.

Bell are so poor at telling customers what they are or are not carrying across their premium sports packages. It is shocking considering how much we pay on a yearly basis. They told me on the phone, after spending ages to find out, that the package and price for Centre Ice is the same as last year.

If you are on the old programming linup (before the change to Sports 1 was made in May), you will not receive RDS or RDS HD. The only way to get them in Sports 1 is to switch your programming to the new packages. I did this back in May as I wanted Nat Geograhic, TLC, and Show Case HD instead of Oasis, Tresure, Equator. You would also get Animal Planet in News and Learning 1 if you subscribe. ...

Options.
1. CV to one TV and HDMI to the other - yes, both active.
2. HDMI splitter then feed HDMI to both TVs.
3. I doubt you'll find an optical in put on the TV, so you'll need to use the analogue audio (red/white) cables if you plan to use CV to that TV, unless you're going to an AVR for audio.

This is great news. Astral Media continues to set a high bar for other Canadian broadcasters to match. I see the future and it is online delivery, directly from broadcasters.
:OT: Bell and Rogers are probably shaking in their boots, worried that direct subscriptions to services like TMN will cut into their BDU profits. Oh wait, they will just kill the competition by whining to the CRTC and ...
