They are not a hardware company. Right now, you have to have a smartphone. And the VAST majority of drivers on theroad do not have, nor are planning to get, a smartphone. And again....hate to break you out of your fantasy world delusions, but the avearge computer suers does not think of Google as a god in everything they d. Most don't give a flying rat's ass ***** about ANYTHING Google does other than search.

I think if AT&T educated people about how the network technology works, daunting as that notion seems - it would help get across their point. I am sure there are familiar analogies that could be drawn that would simplify the task. Sometimes getting your point across is a little victory.

Read the damn article. This is not the Digital Britain report, which on the whole had some good ideas. This is the Digital Economy Bill, a suite of draconian measures cooked up by Peter Mandelson following his weekend jaunt with David Geffen at a Rothschild owned island villa.

It's a classic case of engineers and tech writers declaring what people want, when there is no evidence it's what people want at all.

Didn't you get the memo? If France or Germany doesn't listen to the EU, it's okay. If anyone else does it (even the other big contributors like the UK) then it's not.

It's a nice idea, but I doubt a constitutional amendment could actually pass. Furthermore, a constitutional amendment wouldn't actually effect how the regulation is carried out, it would simply make it harder to be overturned by congress, and would make it impossible to be overturned by the supreme court.

Obviously iPhone users are more likely to purchase digital content, because 90% of users are going to buy it from iTunes, which Apple has a vested interest in keeping. So they are going to market it heavily. This concept isn't rocket science.

The bona fide fan pages get taken down, too. I received a take down notice from FB for a page about breakfast sausage that had generated 50 organic fans with 0 promotion.

Actually, this was public wi-fi, so ANYONE can use it (just as anyone can steal a car), whereas allowing someone to borrow a car means you are evaluating and approving of one specific individual. Nobody other than the criminal is held accountable for crimes that occur on public property. It would appear YOUR example needs work, Mr. McDouche.

This is just a dog and pony show. You know the obama administration was talking about signing global anti piracy laws that completely disagree with most of what this article says. That's AT&T chief lobbyist putting on the show for the public whilst they silently pass laws restricting the internet.

So, the article is saying that public services want to data mine Facebook and Twitter for feedback? I thought it was going to say something about how it's ruining public services and that we should shut down the internet or something.

What I never could figure out. Why don't the banks actually develop a system which is more secure? I mean you put your hand on a hot stove, you learn not to put it there. The security for most banks in the US has not changed since checks were first introduced. I know many of the exploits possible with checks, and it is frightening just how insecure they really are. Your bank writes your ...

Holy Crap!! Total Movie torrents: 577. What's the ***** point?! Might as well have just closed the site down.. Problem here is that it sets a precedent for all other sites. TPB better watch their back, tracker or no tracker. Looks like private communities are the way forward. oh wait, i live in the UK and the psuedo-FBI are about to break down my door for alleged copyright infringement.

There are no sources at all, they should cite their source. I find this highly suspect since only a few days ago that broadcast.com guy (I'm to lazy to look up his name) was proposing that Microsoft pay the top 1000 websites 1 million to delist themselves from google.

It seems that Apple doesn't respect Verizon's Droid phone quite as much as it does Microsoft's PCs. But two new ad spots, launching Monday evening, come as close as Apple has done thus far to directly attack the allegedly do-it-all robotphone.

Downloading and file sharing is what the customer is use to and demands now. Take that away and they will not flock back to whatever industry is dying. Therefore, it is the industry that must adapt to save itself.
