Well you still could buy one and run 10.6.1. And to be honest, I'd be surprised if the
hackintosh community didn't eventually release a fix for this. It wouldn't be the first time they've had to make missing drivers and subvert security features.

This would be great for
Apple TV and would add tremendous value to both the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Yup, I love the Pre, G1, and all those other iPhone competitors because they just lower the price for my next iPhone. =D

I wouldn't get too optimistic about this one. The
Droid commercials are bashing the iPhone pretty hard. I think it's safe to say that all is not well between Apple and Verizon, as much as I would love for them to get along. I wouldn't be surprised if they are working with another carrier/radio technology for the iPad/iSlate that they are working on.

Because designers don't look to other designs for inspiration?

So essentially the argument is... if you buy apple hardware, you buy apple software. If you wanted to switch to another type of hardware, you'd have to buy other software.

"Look folks, you can't beat the Iphone. Not for a while anyways until someone comes along with something that blows it out of the water." That will probably be an Apple product also.
