propaneland -- It all depends on if you're a do-it-yourself kind of person. If you have the tools and the ability, you can save some money and fabricate the pipes for your choice of intercooler. If you're like me and every do-it-yourself project ends in disaster, a ready-to-install kit is the way to go. If you go the kit route, Hypermax gets my recommendation. Their intercooler kit works with the stock turbocharger and with the swap...

Unless you have one of the odd ball 97 California PCMs, you shouldn't have any problems finding a PCM or programmer that will work with it. I have a SC tuner that I have only used as a scanner. It will work with all OBDII compliant 7.3 PSDs. That definitely includes 97. I prefer a chip for getting the best from my engine. If you really want a tuner I would be willing to swap mine for scanner software and PSD adapter that would work with...

I'd plan on a longer front ds with 6"..also at that point you should consider crossover steering and a longer track bar. Use a RS kit with SD springs for the best results..very nice ride quality. Cary

MN_MountainMan -- Do the leaking turbocharger exhaust inlet adapter gaskets apply? Yup. Does the bellowed up-pipe kit? Nope.
The turbocharger exhaust inlet adapters are different between the '97-'97 7.3L Power Strokes and the '99+ 7.3L Power Strokes. Since the kit from International replaces the turbocharger exhaust inlet adapter, it is not compatible with the ' 94-'97 7.3L Power Strokes....

As you heard it does have the element but on the 97's the cord was an option. The element is located on the oil filter header so if it has the cord it will be coming off of it. It will be an orange/red colored cord that should head to the front of the truck. On my 96 it was tied up by the alternator but on yours if it has been used it may be down around the front drivers side of the bumper. ...

Pretty sure none of the brakes will work, and the shocks mount to a plate
on top of the leaf springs by the u-bolts, figured a 2 wheel would be the
same on that

With a stock turbo, I'd recommend the Hypermax kit for OBS. If you're on a tight budget, get a Super Duty 6.0 cooler and either the OBS pipe kit from Banks, or fab up Super Duty pipes. If you use the SD pipes, you'll also need an early 99 intake spyder.

Longshot aic question
I have a an aic that came with a truck when it was a auto then I had it swapped to a stick and now the aic doesn't work and I assume it doesn't realize it's in park.
So my question is is there an easy way to fix it.
Thanks

There have been a few that have done it (so hopefully they will chime in). The 6-speeds (except for the early ones) have internal pumps for the external oil cooler, so you'll have to do that part too. The overall top gear is not that much different. Flywhee/clutch/master/slave are different too. Cheers!

3" just requires cutting & bending the pinch weld... any bigger and you'll most likely have to reshape the firewall to make room.

..most here will tell you to get gauges, better intake and exhaust, then a chip from DP or Wildman...all good stuff if you have the money. I don't have any money so I did my exhaust when my stock fell off (it rusted and broke) and did my intake in an open type like whats called a tymer style. That all helped, but not enough for my liking. I recently bought an ...

Take a hard look at the shackle reversal for your front end. They offer a 3"or5" I think. I did it on my 97 and helped out with the wandering steering a lot. This way you retain your stock suspension too.I was really glad that's how I got my 5" of lift, plus it cleared my 37's really nicely.

4" downpipe??
Anyone make a 4" downpipe for our trucks, I have a 3" but with a little work, maybe a small body lift i think the 4 would go. Any body using one? Probably need and adapter coming out of the Turbo.

Which airbags for SD springs, tire chains etc?
I finally got the front RSK and rear super duty B codes installed and it rides sooo much better than the tuff country lift I had before. I am thinking of adding some airbags for hauling camper and horse trailer. My combo puts about 2500# lbs on the rear of the truck. Which firestone kit will ...
