Sterling 10.5" Hub removal

Do you have the correct socket to remove it? It's possible that the broken axle beating around inside has "swelled" the tube where the nut threads on. Hope not. That would be an expensive repair.

My vote is for failing T/C. What speed does this occur at? Is there a sound change at 37mph on level ground? (T/C lockup speed) Also the T/C unlocks during a downshift event on the highway.

ICP = Injection Control Pressure, this is a measurement in voltage for the HPOP pressure. It is the signal the PCM gets and tells the IPR (Injection Pressure Regulator) to open or close to maintain the desired pressure. Something else you guys should be looking at is the batteries and starter. If the engine does not crank fast enough to build 500 PSI (measured by the ICP sensor) the PCM will not signal the injectors to fire. This can be caused...

No, I would not try that. You would very likely get foaming, and foaming won't mesh well with our injection system. (It won't hydraulicly work with our injectors then.) I would just rely on regular oil changes, good quality oil, and fuel, and planned maintenance to insure out engines and injection systems live a long life....

No EGR on the 7.3's. I have the CCV, Coolant Filter, Tranny Filter, Quality Air Filter, Aux. oil filter and pre- & post- pump fuel filters. Other than that it's your preference. Everything else I've done is for performance.

The 605 and 1211 are from your Hypertech chip. The 231 is for the Relay, I don't know why they said the fuel pump was bad for sure.... Also, if they only charged you 90 dollars they did NOT put a fuel pump in. (FORDS price on a FP is over 300.)

Have you ever serviced the coolant? With the white powder residue, I would think that the water mix with the coolant is not distilled water. By chance did it get changed with just normal tap water?

does it blink? or just stay steady? if it stays steady, i would replace, or at least look into the wiring & button on the shifter. it clips into a connector under the steering column shrould, maybe dirty, or fell out of the harness clip and isnt connecting usually a broken OD button will keep it from going into overdrive. the entire lever is around 110 bucks i think

The problem with just replacing the donuts only is when you get it apart you might find that the pipes are out of shape or just worn out. Then you have to get replacement oem up pipes which are fairly affordable, but will require a trip to the stealer. If you plan ahead you can have all the parts ready, but that would be more expensive so then the bellowed up pipes would be my choice. You ...

Probably a bad hublock. It only takes one that doesn't engage to leave you with no 4 wheel drive. You could try to lock one and leave the other in auto and see if the 4 wheel drive works. Whichever hub you need to lock to get it to work would be your bad hub. Also when the truck is off and its really quiet, pop the hood and engage the 4x4. You should be able to hear the vacuum pump kick on after ...

I'd start by double checking all you connections. Did it run prior to this service? Did you open the water separator? Are you getting a WTS light? Can you hear the fuel pump run? Is there power to the GP's? Are both batteries reconnected? Is there any smoke coming from the exhaust? Are the valve cover connections sound? Is the magnetic coil seated properly/completely on the IPR? Try ...

I'd be looking at the HPOP. What is the PSI reading from it. Do you have access to a scan tool to check the ICP. I did it the old fashion way and just plumbed one up, removed the driver side cowl under the wiper, and taped the gauge to the wiper. This way I could see what was happening with my HPOP under varying conditions especially when things aren't running right.

Is it 4x4? and does it look "showroom" nice? sounds a little high but low miles are nice because even if someone didn't take care of it, you still have 240K miles to baby it. I bought my F350 cc dually long bed for $12,500 with 99K on it. I put a whole new front end on and rear springs but I was also searching for 8 months before I bought. And I knew what expenses I was headed for. Take it to a ...
