Am I crazy?

I asked myself that same question. In this economy who pays 69K for a vehicle when your a middle income boomer? The answer that i kept coming back to was I have wanted it for 3 years.. i saved for it and had a nice trade with the sale of my 02. it is me that has to be happy and make sure that the payment or any other incurrance does not eat me alive in expenses. The bottom line is it is I who will live and love it more so than anybody else. If...

try a dual steering stabilizer setup to add some resistance to it. Give you more feel. About the only thing I can think of.

Turbo Lag Getting Old

I only notice it once in a great while. Keeps me from burning up the tires and driveline. I lean into it as well. I still get speeding tickets though.

So just an update. I drove the truck home. No problems. A couple short drives around town. No problems. 500 mile drive today. No problems. As a matter of fact, I logged 17.8 MPG. Before I made the trip, I logged 17.4 MPG. For the trip, I used cruise control almost the whole way. I'll be driving another 500 miles on Sunday. So far so good.

'08 F250 And Injector Problems
Published (2009-11-08 18:40:00)
What was written on the paperwork, as far as what they've done to fix it? Did they pull the cab? There have been repeat injector failures on trucks that have a short in either the high pressure fuel pump gasket (it has a harness as a part of it), TSB 07-26-2 (no pdf, sorry), or a short in the injector harness under the valve cover.

I'm confused, is it 5,000 mi or 11,000 mi on the oil sample in question? If it's 11,000 mi and you're up over 5% fuel, why don't you just change on the 5,000 mi severe duty schedule where fuel dilution is >2% and not a big deal?

Seems Ford will do anything to try and not honor a warranty based on anything they can think of. Typical Ford BS. Find a different dealer. You'll be surprised.

Should I Reflash?
Published (2009-11-04 04:37:00)
I called my original dealer and another dealer in town. I was told the flashes were not mandatory and would not affect my warranty. I have read quite a few replies from individuals who said they took their vehicle in for unrelated service and when the dealers run the computer diagnostics they see the flash version and will update to the latest as part of their service. A number of guys got the famous 08B07 flash that way and were not happy...

Too many warranty issues with the International engines so they decided to try to build the next one themselves. It should be interesting.

I drain my separator into a clear plastic bottle. I drain about a 1/3 of the bottle if I see no water. More if I see any water.

You were doing 92 mph and it is governed to 84 mph due to the tires. Maybe Canadian trucks are governed different. Do you have 19.5 Conti tires?

If you do a search you will find much info on this topic, but basically it is your truck starting a regen cycle when the DPF isn't up to temp so it is basically throwing all of the unburnt fuel out of the tail pipe. I would guess that your truck is a job 1 with the original computer program on it. This thing was addressed in future flashes.

By bucking and jerking do you mean it feels like the engine is surging and the truck is surging fore and aft, or the truck is bouncing up and down in the front or rear? What kind of trailer is it and what kind of tongue weight/pin weight does it have? Type of hitch?

I am sure they will say not until the ambient temp. is below zero F. but I will say a diesel plugged in once the temp is 20 or lower sure warms up faster and sounds allot smoother at start up.

I have had three flashes. I had a second flash done in the spring (May?) and did like the shifting better, and my in town mileage went down. On Oct 20th I brought my truck in for a stuck front calliper and they said that the engine took a new update, wife picked up the truck so I didn't get to talk to the Service Tech. I notice that the truck is shifting earlier and not smooth, but the in town ...
