http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/6845686/Copenhagen-accord-keeps-Big-Carbon-in-business.html As fairy-tale snow gently descended on Copenhagen, the great global warming conference degenerated through pantomime, boredom, chaos and anger to its entirely predictable conclusion a colossal pile of fudge with a very hard and nasty rock hidden at its centre. The "world summit" on climate change was never...

Democrats - thumbs up on Bernanke
Published (2009-12-17 21:59:00)
The Democrats have given the thumbs up to Ben Bernanke, architect of the "no strings attached, give yourself a bonus" Wall Street bailouts. Republicans have given the thumbs down. http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2009/12/17/senate-banking-committee-roll-call-confirmation-vote-for-bernanke/ How can any objective person claim that the Democrats are not the party of Wall Street now? NEW DELHI: Another Immigration reform seems to be on cards in the US. According to InformationWeek, a 600-page Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America's Security and Prosperity Act of 2009 proposes changes to visas provided to foreign students who get advanced tech degrees in the United States. It aims to make it easier for foreigners with advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics from the US universities...

Well, there ya go, we're screwed either way. There is a distinction though between guest worker and illegal/legal immigrants. As far as I know, BG has never been accused of using illegals.

Under the Democrats' national health care scheme not only would OPM be charged with overseeing and administering federal employees health care but they will have the added charge of administering civilian federal health care as well. What does that mean? Basically, that Americans will be treated as civil servants. Are you starting to see the danger? The expanded portfolio of OPM should worry all Americans. This little known...

..treated like civil servants. No Kidding. I want to make what the $$ public sector workers get. It's nearly twice what the private sector now pays. No wonder they can't find enough tax dollars coming in to pay their bills. Can you say default?

Not me. I think the gov't may have a legitimate role to play in setting up an appropriate regulatory healthcare framework to enable the private sector to provide and administer services to as many people as possible. I have no idea what the scope and limitations of that framework should be, but I do know that the gov't has proven itself incapable of managing Medicare and ...

**** The more government seeks to control our lives the more Orwellian it gets. This big brother mentality that "government knows best" and that it is their mission to provide cradle to grave care of its citizens will doom America as we know it. Under such a system the individual becomes meaningless and the state becomes the entity upon which we are all forced to rely. ...

Seems Karma isn't the only one:- Sen. Chuck Schumer loves the sound of his own voice, but it carried a bit farther than he might have liked on the US Airways shuttle from New York to Washington on Sunday. I can't watch that but are you saying Rubin is being unfairly maligned based on actions his son undertook? You'd think Taibbi would have enough on that scoundrel Rubin without needing his son (in fact I know he does as he's written about it).
