Call militaryonesource they can get you all of the answers you need for the new program. I believe your sponsor has to designate you to use the GI Bill somewhere, but I am not really sure how it all works.

I agree that there is no "good" time with military. I was alone during both PG's and gave birth to DD2 on my own. Yes it sucks but now he is home while both are little. I would really try to get a support system built up. Go to Meetup.com or Bigtent.com and find other people in your situation and make friends. I have the best support system in my current location granted I don't necessarily like where I am...

DH went TDY a dozen times during my pregnancy and is now deployed. He'll miss 9 months- 23 months of DD'd life. Doing it again I would have him gone during my pregnancy (although I would work REALLY hard at building up a support system-but people love pregnant gals. I made tons of friends while pregnant) over missing the first year. Seeing it all in action I would MUCh rather have someone help ...

Tricare
Anyone have " horror stories" about tricare coverage?
My parent's friend's son is in the army and had three herniated discs that no one did anything for. Finally his dad got him an MRI and that's when the medical staff he was seeing finally admitted a problem.
Anyone else have major issues?
Can anyone giveme some ...

Lejeune mamas....want to get together?
We lived here before and now that we're back I'm discovering that all my friends have moved or really don't understand my parenting choices.
So I'm hoping to be able to find some likeminded mamas to meet up with?
Is anyone interested? We could just meet up at a park, real low key....

We are living in Ak and I have to renew my teaching certificate no later than June 1st 2010. I have to take two courses at our college to do that. I know the military will pay for the classes but I just don't know what web site to go to, to do it. If anyone has any ...

Definitely cool that you want to get him something. With all the restrictions, honestly, I would stick to a card and some money. Or, wait until after he's graduated and do a congrats gift when he is allowed some more freedom to have things.

I hope you guys can come to an agreement for you to follow your dreams. It's a big commitment, as you know, but we are doing it for the benefits as well. The economy sucks, we both work for a state that has HUGE budget issues and cuts and furlows are happening everywhere. We are definitely doing it for some security. We will be cutting things a little tight for a bit as an E3 but it'll be ok....
