Thanks that's a good idea..I watch a few kids now here and there but my full time job had to end suddenly when the mother lost her job so I am suddenly out of a job that I was depending on fos my main income..but I know its not her fault..I just have to try to get what I can and make the best of it!

You might want to post your availability in a common area at ISU or Rose. I used to babysit for a couple Rose profs' kids.

Are you moving to MI or just visiting? I live between Grand Rapids and Holland. We have a very active AP community in GR. You can visit www.michigannaturalparenting.com to talk with us all over the state.

I live in Rockford, about 10-15 minutes N of Grand Rapids. I love it!!!! You could not ask for more playgrounds, hiking trails, paved bike paths, etc. Rockford has really cute shops that you walk to and a great farmers market from June through Oct. The school system is wonderful and there are many churches to choose from. Most people are friendly - such a great place to raise a family. Michigan does every season well. Fall is SO Beautiful! Awww, MI people! I wish I could you all! I grew up in Montrose, a little town north of Flint, and I can't imagine a better place to grow up. It's such a beautiful state! And the people are so much nicer than they are out west. In El Paso people would sooner run you over with their car than help you :P

I'm in Broad Ripple -- my little one is Christine, born 9/15/07 -- she's currently an only child and should probably play with kids her own age more. Wanna do a playdate? I was just looking at a class at Broad ripple park for this agegroup yesterday.

Hello, I'm from Grand Rapids, MI. It's a friendly city, for the most part. (Really, as much as a city can be friendly, of course.)
There's the Van Andel Museum (Public Museum) and that has an indoor carousel. Everyone seems to LOVE the carousel. There's a children's museum as well. The new Art Museum is gorgeous and has the ArtPrize winner's piece (until January when it gets shipped to ...
