The sensor failed at day 13 so I removed it. There was no
skin irritation underneath and no sign that a sensor had been installed after it was removed. My Cleo 90 leave much signs after removal even though I change them every two days. I read elsewhere that others often use Dexcom sensors for 10-14 days.

Here are links that suggest that both Omnipod and
Animas are to combine their pumps with the Dexcom CGMS . http://www.ydmv.net/2009/08/from-new...nd-animas.h tml http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/93235.php

Oops! It just figures, Richard, the one package you were waiting for arrived and wasn't what you wanted at all!! I'm sorry this happened, and I'm gonna bet that you'll be able to manage your way through the holiday. Your Dex can now be a good way to start the New Year

Yes, absolutely! I pump on my stomach, so I can't use it for the dexcom. I like to put it on my side/back...
hard to explain...kind of where the love handles are so there's a little more padding in that region of the back--AND--i know this'll sound weird--my rear. Not where you'd sit, but near the top of that area where there's still some fat but would never come in contact with a chair. ...

More than likely it was just a bad location. I had one of those just the other day. No matter what my
finger stick said it would always say between 100 and 120 so on day 2 i took it out and put in a new one on the other side and it seems fine.

Hi Richard,
I'm hopeful that my insurance approves as easily as yours did.
I think one of the more ambiguous challenges of Dexcom is knowing whether to give up on a sensor if it doesn't work from the get go. It's part
art and part science to know when to just replace it or to wait it out because sometimes a sensor will suddenly start working.
I only trialed the Dex for a few days ...

Thanks so much for your post Drew. I have bee approved for using the Dexcom system. I still have some
highs and lows that I want to avoid in the future. Your post will inspire others to consider a CGM . Good post!

I don't know for sure. I also can't use my abdomen for infusion sets because of scar tissue. However, it's the only place I use for
CGM and I've never had a problem. The sensor tip goes deeper than infusion sets do so maybe that's why?
