Posting once is plenty. My 2 cents: Both systems are at the low end of the low end today. HL2 and TF2 should work (if not necessarily pretty), but I doubt L4D1 and 2 will run, on either of them (CPUs are too slow, graphics cards too old).

Are you cookies/temp internet files set to clear on close? That's the only explanation I can think of. Either that or do you delete your cookies and what not?

No, it's not just you. The number of comments next to the blog title is always one higher than the number of actual comments. It's incredibly irritating because with the normal comment tracker on the fritz, I can never be certain if new comments have been added or not.
