They are to blame for practically giving them money and at the same time running up a massive debt for our Military Industrial Complex. We never learned the lessons from the Cold War.

who went over to Iraq to "entertain the troops" ... gee, they're so tough, why didn't they show how patriotic they really were? Ran across a recent article in the Akron Beacon Journal, from 1945 ... a Marine was highlighted as a newcomer to the Akron rasslin' scene ... Of course, the "uber-patriots" are more than happy to play a soldier on the screen ... Larry "Git-R-Dumb" The Cable Guy, John Cena...

how much has been "tinkled" away over the last 8 years on the wars. I would be willing to bet there would be no budget issue for DOD right now if we had all that money and had not had the wear and tear on the equipment.

but neither Georgia, of course, nor South Korea are members. NATO's mission in Afghanistan is peace-keeping and reconstruction work in support of the Afghan Government, not war-making. Still, I suppose that with enough money on or under the table, something like these numbers could be drummed up for 'rearguard' duty.

externally. This country has more problems at home than it's ever going to fix spending hoards of money on other countries. Our roof is caving in but none seem to see that, anymore, and the foundations of American are crumbling, IMO. We need to get back to investing in America, provide jobs, stabilize the economy and rebuild an educated society. Anymore weight on this country is going to ...

they're cannons! They're supposed to be loud! I remember hearing the National Anthem as a kid on an AF base. I don't ever remember being annoyed by it. Reveille can come as a hell of a shock the first couple of times, but it isn't annoying either. Of course since it was an AF base, I doubt I'd have ever heard the cannons for the jets taking off.
