It is getting close. It could be that, or he feels he is not entirely sold on the Obama plan doesn't have all the details and can't speak of it enthusiastically. And actually, Hillary and Gates are responsible for making the case for Obama. But, still I always look forward to an appearance from Senator Kerry and I hurried home hoping I would get to see this one. Oh well, maybe this coming weekend or sometime soon.

But it's like the jackpot when CSPAN airs those hearings because you can capture them in high quality! I'm sure they won't air it though!

...excited. I just watched all the clips on MSNBC from yesterday, but none showed the part I saw. I actually think Andrea messed up, now that I saw that Feinstein was on today. Yesterday, she said Feinstein would be on, and then a picture of Kerry and two other senators were displayed (no Feinstein), she said Kerry would be on and then gave one more name (I don't know if it was Leiberman or not). I think the pictures didn't match...

JK is still true to his beliefs, he still sees this as not a military ending, as he said many times this cannot be won militarily. I'm with JK, I will give Obama the benefit of the doubt and I know JK will be the first one to criticize if he sees this leading in a different direction. IMO, Obama is trying to please to many people and still not going with his gut feeling as he has done with healthcare reform, etc. To me that is what is...

WASHINGTON, D.C.--Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman John Kerry (D-MA) released the following statement this evening following President Obamas speech on Afghanistan: "I believe that the President defined a narrower mission tonight, not an open-ended nation-building exercise. A key component of that mission is providing that the troops will only clear and hold in places where there is capacity to build and transfer beneath...

Especially with Karzai, the real truth is that he filled a void in the diplomatic skills/relations of the entire Obama foreign policy team. Clinton has spuin it, but the timeline that both Eikenberry and Kerry quickly got out, shows that this was not HRC and Holbrooke calmly sitting in DC and giving Kerry the task before he left. Kerry was told of the problem on Friday night and that was when he...

White House officials are eager to portray Kerry as a close ally and adviser. Hes been extraordinarily helpful, both with his counsel, but also with his work on the Hill, Obama senior adviser David Axelrod said in an interview. Hes worked hard to find common ground, to use his relationships with colleagues to try and force consensus. In a meaningful way, hes playing the kind of role...

What I love about Charlie Rose is that one gets a lot of info out of the interviews.

He may be opposing it for the wrong reasons, but Cape Wind is not the good project some would want to say. It is amazing that a lefty paper like Mother Jones does not get that projects like Cape Wind are just huge corporate projects that will give to corporations a huge power on something we all need (and next we know, we will be fighting these ...

http://www.reuters.com/article/GCA-GreenBusiness/i dUSTR... LONDON (Reuters) - The planet would be better off if the forthcoming Copenhagen climate change talks ended in collapse, according to a leading U.S. scientist who helped alert the world to dangers of global warming. Any agreement likely to emerge from the negotiations would be so deeply flawed, said James Hansen, that it would be ...

I found the speech unclear. I have no idea what Pres. Obama or Sen. Kerry will be "selling"? We need to put 30K troops in so they can come out in 18 months? Why? What good will that do?

as usual, JK's is one of the most thoughtful. Unlike most of the others, he seems to have really taken the question seriously, and offered more than a cliched response. Thanks, JK (and luftmensch!)

Actually, these Republican light media sources have been sprouting up all over the place recently. I call them light because they are actually RW publications trying to pretend they are legitimate unbiased news sources. I would add the Wall Street Journal and US News and World Reports in with Politico. Both of these publications have become irrelevant because they have shown themselves to be ...
