The article is correct; he was also popular abroad, which is a good thing for the U.S. However, he got too big and it went to his head. He began to think he could do anything - even with children. That's when he lost my interest.

I tried reading the books but they're nothing like Harry Potter. The author also took a lot of liberties with the vampire genre. For good romantic vampire novel go back to the original Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Absolute classic.
