Published (2009-12-22 13:39:00)
Welcome to the forums I can't answer your question re upgrading the graphics, because I'm not sure if the XPS M2010 is one of the very few [Dell] laptops with a dedicated card which can be upgraded? Re a Blu-Ray drive: I doubt there are many to choose from tbh? But if they're available, I'd recommend a Pioneer, LG, or Samsung model. Only consider a Pioneer drive though,...

Canceling a order
Published (2009-12-27 14:33:00)
Hello! I have some new information for you. In dells own blog, one of the Dell Bloggers (assuming he's an employee) stated you can call 1-800-247-2076, select option 2 and cancel your order from there. Just tell them that a Dell employee (Lionel Menchaca) is telling people you can cancel your order via that option. Dont give up!

Thanks cooke6 and timewave!
As it turns out, I solved the problem through a different means a couple months ago:
In the BIOS, I changed the HDD Performance setting from "Performance" to "Bypass."
Either Bypass or Quiet was the default option. I remember changing it to performance when I first got the laptop because heck, why would I not want the drive to be most performant? :) As cooke6...

The BIOS would rarely have anything to do with this type of issue.
If one machine operates correctly and one does not that should be an indication that it's a local (single-computer) issue.
Troubleshooting should always be a step-by-step process and/or a comparison of the two.
Look at the properties of each computer's network connection (wireless or wired depending on what they are ...

twr63,
It's always best to make sure the virus is completely gone before doing anything. Some viruses have survived reinstallations. I think you should go and Please Read This Before Posting For Malware Removal Help , then post in the DELL Malware Removal Forum . They're better equipped to make sure the virus is completely gone.

Are you certain it's a Dimension 3200, as does not seem to have that model listed?
The 5' power cord shown HERE will be suitable for a Desktop power supply.

I have a problem, huge problem with my XPS m1330, I bought it in Feb 2008 and haven used it much since I was away (work) and took my work laptop with me.
I am now having the much dreaded Nvidia 8400 GPU and heat sink problem. The laptop has been overheating so much (in almost idle state) that I cannot type. I am pretty much disappointed with Dell`s costumer support on this one, and with DELL...

If there are no lights coming on, e.g. the power light (even a different color or flashing) I would suspect the power supply.

Welcome to the forums
First of all - because there are so many different model names and numbers, we can't possibly know what they all are.
It's important therefore, to include the full name and model number, and when the thread is posted in a forum section which doesn't indicate which of the two it is, confirm whether it's a laptop or a desktop system too.
Providing as ...

Don't use the driver download manager; clear out your cookies so that you get the choice to download direct via web browser and use that. The download manager has been a problem since it was introduced about six months ago.
Also, be sure you are using the right download for your DVD burner. There are no drivers on the Dell site for the DVD drive as these are already incorporated into ...
