bamajim, According to PC-cillin, BKDR_TDSS.SM trojan (C:\Windows\system32\tdlcmd.dll) is reinstalling itself every 2 hours. The log shows this started at 3:16 am today (11/28) and has continued every two hours (5:15, 7:17, 9:17, 11:17, 13:17, 15:16, and 17:17, so far).in each case reportedly being quarantined by PC-cillin. RJDoyleJr As I suspected, it is infected. We need a clean copy. Using windows explorer locate and upload this one C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386\sp3.cab\ atapi.sys

Thanks for the log...but that's not what I needed. I need to see a list of installed software. What I'd like you to do first, is uninstall the following programs: Acrobat 7.0 utorrent ...Acrobat 7.0 is out dated and has been exploited. Many users who complained of a dns hijack found this to be behind the issue. We can install the latest version only after we are convinced the system is clean...and the utorrent software is more...

   Combofix is uninstalled. i enabled spybot and updated the anti virus it was working great then it started hanging again,

Computer infected, cannot do...

My brother in-laws computer got infected and I was going to direct him to this forum, but whatever virus infected his computer won't allow him to do anything. Anytime he tries to open a program or  his browser, it redirects him to this anti-spyware pro page.  I suggested he reboot in safe mode and try to launch his anti-virus but I'd thought I'd post here first.
