I have a Studio 17 connected to a Westinghouse flat screen TV using a HDMI cable.  The sound works fine on the computer, and the video works fine on both the TV and the computer, but the only sound on the TV is a crackle that corresponds with the brightness of the screen.  I am running Vista Message Edited by BG68 on 09-04-2008 03:09 PM

i reinstal fresh copy of my xp and i dont gave cd sou i downloaded from the dell site drivers for my D620 and i tried to instal, but it wont work i get error all the time that drivers are not finding sound card. same problem i having with video card the drivers not working too. help me please.

I've tried to use my internal mic on msn messenger and nothing happened, there is no sound registering on the sensitivity bar thing. I tried to change the volume in both the msn Mic setup and the Audio devices in control panel but neither make a difference. I have the sound card installed and sound works, however, in the Device Manager, I have an "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" component that doesn't have a driver. Hey everyone, when I (or the other party) try to initiate a video chat, my sound suddenly stops working.  The camera works fine, but when I talk, they can't hear me.  Everytime this happens, I have to download a sound driver off the Dell website in order to get my sound working again.  Does anyone know what I could do to successfully video chat on AIM?

When you insert a plug into the jack the computer doesn't know if it is a mic or a line level plug, so it opens the popup box so you can select which one. Line-in is the default but you should be able to select mic in the dialog box. It doesn't let you do that?   Jim

Hi!   I recently upgraded my laptop to 2GB ram and Windows Vista Home Premium.   It is working fine. My only complain is that for every MP3 I listen in Windows Media Player, there is 5-second sratchy/crack audio before the end of the song.    Is it common?
