About six months ago I purchased a desktop, Dell Inspiron D530. It came with Windows Vista Home Basic. Everything was running smoothly until a couple months ago I noticed my music (on itunes, WMP, Gom, etc) was skipping whenever a new page was loading in firefox. I tried using IE, same problem. This also happens when I'm using another program that connects to the internet.   I don'...

I have Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1 and Realtek HD Audio Manager. I keep getting a message reading " a jack is unplugged", "a jack is plugged in" alternately. It also tells me that there is no audio device installed. Does anyone have problems with the driver for this audio device? Should I uninstall the driver and then reinstall after reboot? My version was updated 05/02/07. I...

I no longer get sound playback when viewing Youtube or CNBC videos.  I have followed many of the troubleshooting steps advised on this forum (updated chipset, Sigmatel driver), with no luck.  One clue is that in Control Panel=>Sound and Audio Devices=>Volume, it says there is no audio device.  In =>Audio, it shows the default playback as Modem #1 Line Playback, and offers no other ...

I have an E510.   The correct reinstall sequence is (1) Install Windows (2) Install Intel Chipset Drivers (3) Install device drivers, such as the sound.    If the chipset drivers were omitted, sound drivers will not install.   Second the "IDT" sound drivers are the incorrect drivers for the Dell Integrated Audio.  Also, the IDT drivers from Microsoft have caused many problems ...

When I initially purchased the 9200 in March of 07 I was unable to hear line-in audio.   I followed the registry adjustment, etc., in this forum and that fixed the problem. In installing Vista SP1, I uninstalled Sigma Tel driver to avoid problems.   Reinstalled latest Dell/SigmaTel driver afterwards and everything came back fine.   I then duplicated the registry adjustment, ...

Ok, so I recently formated my computer and now it cannot play sound, althought it could before. When I check in the "Soud and audio devices" panel, it tells me that there is no sound device. The harware also changed. Before I formatted, the computer told me the sound card was an Audigy 2ZS. Now it changed to "Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device". I tried downloading some drivers for the...

I have a 9100 Desktop series that's about 4 years old with a SB Audigy 2 ZS sound card which supports a pair of standard desktop speakers. I recently moved and when I hooked my computer back up I discovered that I have no sound. The speakers are apparently still functional because the green light comes on and I can hear a light hissing noise. So I'm wondering if something happened to ...
