NVIDIA 9600GT drivers

I don't know if you're familiar with installing the drivers, but you should first install nvidia-kernel-source and module-assistant, then m-a clean all && m-a update && m-a prepare && m-a a-i nvidia-kernel . If that's successful, you can install nvidia-glx and nvidia-settings. There's more documented on the wiki .

My ssd rocks, ive got an intel x25m. the write speed may slow down a bit without TRIM, but it'll be a damn sight faster than a shitty laptop hard drive. and the IO performance pwns. I have an asus eee, it worked fine. I dont use it anymore though, smart phone does enough on the go.

Need chip set driver support, so...what chip/chipset/vendor is supported? I *could* take the quote at face value and go buy and install any pci-sata card and I would expect it to work..but I know...

Yeah, it's eth0 and is the only one working actually. I don't run network-manager or wicd because I have only two networks and I like using scripts better, they seem to need less fiddling around.

Software Raid 1 HELP!!!!
Published (2009-12-05 11:42:00)
Hi. The plain "install" is almost a graphical install. I suggest you try that first, and if you like it, stay with with it. I don't recall using the graphical install for the manual setup. Keep in mind that you define the disk partitions first, marking them as RAID, and *then* you start to define the "md" (multiple disk, RAID) arrays by choosing the partitions. I almost always allocate sufficient time...

Squeeze is the same way, so I just added unstable to /etc/apt/sources.list and pinned the nvidia-related packages: (/etc/apt/sources.list) Code: Select all deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ squeeze main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/updates main deb-src http://security.debian.org/ squeeze/...

I don't know anything specific about that device, but I have worked with usb->serial adapters before. I have a few different usb->db9 at work and many of them worked fine on RedHat/Fedora/CentOS, but not when I moved them to Debian. This happened because certain non-free firmware was removed from Debian's kernel and it wasn't available with the non-free firmware package(s). I think the only way I...

I recently purchased this card in a Dell and installed Lenny then upgraded to Testing. The module I needed was wl (WL) so you might try searching for that. Also, is eth0 your wireless interface?

I recently purchased a 1005HA and I gotta say I've been pretty pleased with it. It's going to be a christmas gift for someone not quite so tech-savvy, and I chose to install Windows XP on it. I can't attest for how well it will run Debian, but it handles XP pretty well. The only thing I don't like about the 1005HA is that the hard disk is ridiculously hard to upgrade and requires that you void ...
